Local2Local's FDS

Country:
Netherlands
Summary:

L2L offers its Food Distribution Software (FDS) for SFSC-initiatives and vendors, Smart City logistics, customer support and product-market concepts as plugin-services. The L2L-format is set up to be able to scale up, other regions and initiatives can easily implement, align, connect and collaborate.

Local2Local believes a paradigm shift in the food supply chain can be achieved through new value propositions, business and institutional collaboration, social entrepreneurship, citizen participation and community formation. We collaborate with existing initiatives and stakeholders and provide service support with expertise, concept development, a producer and expert network, professional logistics, marketing and IT.

L2L SFSC provides the B2B- and B2B2C-market (strategically aimed at government, semi-government and healthcare) with produce from our own and several partnering short food supply chains. The L2L-format is set up to be able to scale up, other regions and initiatives can easily implement, align, connect and collaborate.

The costs of establishing a SFSC plug-in service consist of several elements:

- The cost of establishing a FDS system for a regional alliance is: 25.000 (customer care, sales, administration, logistical coordination, IT facilitation usable for multiple local producers).

- Variable costs of onboarding producers within the FDS system (branding, storytelling, product specifications and integration in the FDS software): 2.000 per producer with multiple products.

- The creation and maintenance of a vendor (white label webshop): 1.000 monthly base.

The Local2Local Short Food Supply Chain (SFSC) organisation is primarily responsible for the sales and distribution of local products. We focus on helping farmers sell the best product and tell the customer the story behind it. With well over 250 farmers and producers we currently provide more than 800 products to a large variety of customers. Behind this platform, a central organization works on customer care, sales, administration, logistical coordination, IT facilitation, onboarding of producers and products, expansion of the farmer groups and the development of fresh new products, in collaboration with the partners. This is a high value innovation that can be applied to every SFSC initiative to support the marketing and sales potential.
