Extract from text:
Hollandse Waterlinie Oat collective is an initiative of Amped and Local2Local, in collaboration with the Nederlands Bakkerij Centrum (NBC), bakery De Veldkeuken, Utrecht University and partners within the Utrecht Food Freedom alliance, to, on the one hand, develop an innovative and proven food product based on short-chain oats, and on the other hand, to grow crops (oats, barley) on existing land of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie forts that once had their roots in the Netherlands, but have slowly disappeared. The crops are good for people and for the soil. Within the collaboration, it will be demonstrated what the crops do for soil structure and biodiversity. Local, artisanal products will be made from them and accompanied by a cultural, artisanal, healthy and sustainable message, marketed locally.
